Alexandria, Egypt, November 01, 2010:  City Centre Alexandria announced the winners of the ‘Techno Innovation Competition’ last weekend and rewarded them with special prizes and awards.

Last summer, the mall called upon all budding scientists and innovators to participate in the ‘Techno Innovation Competition’, which was held in conjunction with TechnoKids Egypt. The worldwide competition, which was free to all children, aims to uncover the brightest technology minds of the future.

As part of the winnings, the mall gave its visitors a chance to spend a full day at City Centre Alexandria, which included a free cinema show, lunch at one of the restaurants at the mall, one hour of non stop entertainment at Magic Planet. The prize for the winners also included a certificate, a medal and selection of branded gifts from the mall and gift vouchers from Centre point.

The final winners of the competition were chosen by a scientific committee specialised in assessing advanced projects. Young participants submitted more than 12 scientific projects that offer creative solutions in different fields such as transportation; rescue and emergency; traffic congestion and car accidents; mines; energy saving; air conditioning systems; and environmental problems in addition to social issues and behaviour. Techno Kids is an organisation set up in 1993, which helps give children the basic technology know-how and skills that will set  them up for later life.
Teaching children these skills has become essential, with children graduating into a world where success depends on their ability to understand and utilize technology.
